I am inspired by my visual life, and my own
interpretation of it. I love describing space by
placing emphasis on the world around an object rather than the object itself.
Paying attention to the relationships between objects allows me to truly view
the object itself. It seems that whether I am painting a landscape, nude, or
whatever, finding the pattern of the scene allows me to create an internal and
external rhythm or breath in a piece".

Bernard Gerson
Photographer
Galerie BMG
12 Tannery Brook Road
Woodstock, NY 12498
info@galeriebmg.com
( 845) 679 0027
Bernard Gerson combines images of water and natural landscapes, all created in
recent months. The waterscapes,
in particular, were inspired by this summer's fast-moving water. Rather than
copying nature literally, these images
have a more abstract quality and transform nature into a vehicle of emotion and
sensuality. Gerson uses light, texture and movement, as a painter would, and
achieves a "painterly" effect, complete with brushstrokes.

I have lived in Woodstock for 38 years. Was chairman of
Woodstock Artists Association for 6 years. My Assemblage art is collected
world-wide. Voted best artist of 2002 at WAA.
Presently, curator of monthly 2-artist shows at Oriole 9 restaurant.
I have been selling unusual antiques since 1973. In the course of hunting for
new (old) salable material, I came across many pieces which were not so
salable, but because of their forms, uniqueness or rarity intrigued me to the
extent that I bought them anyway. These objects I have saved through the years
with the intent of eventually finding a way to enable others to see what I saw
them. In 1991 I began to physically unite these forms into conceptual art
objects that I felt utilized them to their best advantages. What you see here
today is some of the fruit of my passion for these heretofore under-appreciated
objects.

“Factory†has settings to suit a variety of moods. A leisurely idle speed with
only lights and chain running, a light workload day sending an occasional
marble down a chute, on up to a frantic workload of a factory catching up with
back orders. Moving the control lever to various positions mechanically alters
both the
number of trip actuators allowed to set as well as the number of times each set
actuator is allowed to actually trip a marble. 1.5m h x 1.7w x .23d .

"My art is created from exploring the reality in which I
live, and the world inside my head. My intention is to lure the viewer into the
micro-cosmos of the project I have made.
Art is also an experimental journey - one travels through the unknown to find a
solution for one's original idea. The results of this adventure are often as
unexpected and surprising to the artist as they are to the viewer."

Petra Nimtz
19 Wilber Lane
Woodstock, NY
(845) 684-5004
Abstract Painter
The essential foundation of my work is that it originates in improvisation and
accident. To me, the artist, what matters is the process, the experience of
shaping my artwork and refusing to accept limitations imposed by rules ,
elements of style and formal techniques. I trust my instinct, my eyes, my hands
rather than being tied down by preconceived ideas. Not having a concept in mind
is allowing me to rely completely on my own imagination while exploring the
surface of the canvas with brushes and palette knives.

Vita
Artist and author
Vita Roth
19 Blue Jay Way
Woodstock, NY. 12498
(845) 679-2329
Vita@VitaPaintings.com
Behind Vita Roth’s vibrant paintings of other worldly forms
is a moving story of the healing power of art. Vita began painting after
hearing a voice in the desert, telling her to paint to heal herself. Having
never painted before, she asked how and was told: “Do absolutely nothing, let
your hand be guided.†The process of doing nothing enabled Vita to connect with
her child within and reawakened her buried love for her mother who had
abandoned her at the age of 14. Out of this healing process came a book of
paintings and words, Head in the Clouds. Louise Hay, author of You can heal
your Life, called the volume, a truly lovely book showing the inside workings
of a healed heart through magnificent paintings.
" Head in the Clouds" is available for purchase on her website VitaPaintings.com.
